Why do I see buffering when listening to ?

The buffer in a streaming audio player temporarily stores the last few seconds of your station’s playback. In the event that your network connection slows down or is momentarily disrupted, the station you’re listening to will play back from the buffer until the connection is restored. If the buffer runs out, the audio will begin to skip or possibly drop off completely. This is similar to a buffer on a portable CD player, which prevents your portable CD player from skipping as you jog.

When you use the 'Retreive my password' link the system will send your account information out via formatted email.( To the email address we have on file for you) some email spam filter systems such as aol and yahoo etc, see this as spam as it's formatted and contains keywords like 'password'. general info

When did radioio begin broadcasting?

We’ve actually been around the Internet radio block a bit longer than most, as we started in the rough and tumble frontier of Internet radio in the late ‘90s, based in the spare bedroom of our founder, Mike Roe. Mike didn’t know anything about radio or webcasting, but he loved to play and share music, so he started his own single music stream, called radioio (that has now evolved into our Eclectic music stream, which he still programs). As his vision and radioio grew, Mike sought other music lovers who shared his philosophy of intelligent music programming that never underestimates the listener.

What sets radioio apart?

radioio is made for individuals, by individuals. Each radioio music stream (or “channel”) is an independent, original creation that you won’t find anywhere else, featuring hand-picked music sets crafted by our stream hosts - not computers. Get to know the real people behind our music streams, who are basically other music enthusiasts like you (but with much larger music collections). They know that you want just the right music whenever you feel like it, wherever you are, and are always ready to respond to your comments, questions or requests.

Business use of streams

Companies or persons wishing to use the radioio channel streams in their place of business need to purchase a license from each of the performing rights societies (bmi, ascap and sesac) in order to play the radioio music in this way. Licensing requirements may vary by organization and use intent. Commercial use has nothing to do with radioio's compliance with bmi/ascap and sesac. Paying the radioio subscription is in no way the indirect payment of royalties. We strongly suggest that businesses seek competent legal advice on how to register with the above agencies.

io4business

Radioio.com has a partner business that is set up for use in commercial business applications. Please visit our background music service web site, io4business.com for more info.
